The unidentified person made a call to Krishna Dev Saroj, and warned him of dire consequences if he fails to make the payment at the earliest, SHO (Munshiganj) VK Mishra said.
Earlier, some unidentified motorcycle-borne youths have looted some important business-related documents from the victim's office at Village Behta here, the officer said.
"They took those papers from his clerk and asked him to apprise his owner of their demands," he added.
Police said an FIR has been filed in this case, and the matter is being probed.
