Th 25-year-old actress tweeted a a photo of her special invitation from King Kong himself, confirming her role.
"Brie, welcome to the jungle. Love, King Kong," the letter read.
Larson will join Tom Hiddleston for the film, to be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
Any details regarding her character are still not revealed.
"Kong: Skull Island" is projected as a prequel to the King Kong story.
According to the Legendary Pictures the film will take audiences deeper inside Skull Island, which is Kong's home.
