Brig Harjai had joined the Army Medical Corps after his post graduation in general surgery from Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Ajmer, and passed MCh in Paediatric Surgery from SMS Medical College, Jaipur in May 1997, PRO Defence S N Acharya said.
He has served in various prestigious hospitals of Indian Armed Forces including Army Hospital (Research & Referral) Delhi Cantonment and Armed Forces Medical College, Pune as Professor of Surgery and Paediatric Surgery.
He was awarded Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card in 1996 and 2003 for his professional competence. He was also awarded Jules Voncken International Prize in 2009.
