Replying to supplementary questions, Revenue Minister Shivpal Yadav told the House that against the demand of over Rs 7,500 crore, the Centre provided Rs 2,801 crore, that too four months late.
As the minister stressed that the state government was sensitive towards the plight of farmers and additional compensation will be distributed once more funds are made available by the Centre, Satish Mahana and Laxmikant Bajpai (both BJP) asked the government to rise above party politics and not dilute the matter.
The minister's reply that it will be done when money for the same will be made available failed to satify the BSP and BJP members, who staged a walkout.
