Vice-president of SHSMT Narinderjit Singh Bindra urged Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna to consider SHSMT's plea as the project had been earlier sanctioned by Uttarakhand government.
Bindra, who is also the chairman of Uttarakhand Minority Commission, in a letter to Bahuguna said "Apart from a helipad at Hemkunt Sahib, dual trek routes should now be built upto the Gurdwara, to put in place an emergency evacuation process."
He also stressed on the need to build a bigger helipad at Ghagaria for MI-17 choppers which can operate in emergencies.
