A four story apartment building collapsed onto a smaller building in Philadelphia today, injuring 12 people and trapping at least two others in the rubble.
The smaller edifice was a Salvation Army store. The cause of the accident not far from city hall was not immediately known, but authorities called it an apparent industrial accident.
None of the injured were hurt badly, said fire chief Lloyd Ayers.
Rescue workers combed through the rubble hours after the accident to free those who were trapped after in the building, which had only a few interior walls still standing after the accident.
