The truck driver, 24-year-old Suman, did not flee from the spot and instead parked his vehicle on roadside. He was handed over to a police team.
Faizan, a resident of north Delhi's Azad Market, was returning home on his motorcycle on Saturday night when the incident took place at around 10:30 PM, police said.
"According to some eyewitnesses, Faizan jumped the traffic light and was hit by the truck coming from the other side," said a investigating police officer.
He owned a shop and is survived with wife and three children.
According to the police officer, the preliminary probe revealed that the truck driver was not under the influence of alcohol.
