"Cadre Hemchand Marawi was brought to Raipur from Kondagaon on Mi-17 helicopter," Inspector General of Police (State Intelligence Bureau) Deepanshu Kabra told PTI.
A native of Rajnandgaon district Marawi sustained bullet injuries in the gun-fight with a joint team of security forces on June 6 in forests near Timdi village under Dhanora police station limits.
Two women naxals were gunned down in the gun-fight that lasted for around an hour while a huge cache of arms and ammunitions recovered from the spot.
Marawi could not escape from the spot and was arrested, Kabra said.
He was admitted to local hospital in Kondagaon.
However, after seeing his deteriorating health condition he was airlifted to Ramkrishna Care hospital in Raipur, the IG added.
