Children who have lost their parents in Naxal violence in Chhattisgarh will be given priority for admission in schools nearby their native place or according to their choice, a state minister said today.
Besides, children who have suffered physical disability in Naxal incidents will also be given admission in the nearest schools of their residential area, state school education minister Kedar Kashyap said here.
In a directive issued in this regard from Mantralaya here, officials of Directorate of Public Instructions, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan have been asked to take immediate steps in this direction, Kashyap said.
Keeping in view the fact that education of those children, who lose the head of their family in the Maoist violence, gets affected, the state government has decided to provide necessary assistance for their studies, Kashyap said.
Such children will be given priority for admission in schools nearby their villages or according to their choice and in institutions like Kasturba Gandhi residential school, portacabin and girls' residential school, he said.
