Vice-president, Racing, RCTC, Robin Corner told PTI the event will see a total 148 advertised races, including 44 cup races.
A total 503 horses (including 135 two-year-olds) under the charge of 19 'A' licensed trainers will participate.
21 'A' licenses and 6 'B' licenses have been issued to jockeys and 6 apprentice jockeys, he said.
The important races are Independence Cup (August 19), Calcutta Juvenile Sprint (August 22), Calcutta Monsoon Sprint (August 29), Calcutta Fillies Trial Stakes (September5), Calcutta Colts Trial Stakes (September 12), Stewards Cup (September 26), Calcutta Monsoon Derby (October 4) and Monsoon Cup (October 10).
