Car robber nabbed after encounter in Ghaziabad

A car robber who was fleeing with stolen vehicle was nabbed after a chase and an encounter with police even as his accomplice managed to escape.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Ashish Srivastava told PTI that the police control room received information that some robbers had stolen a car at gun point from one Ramesh Bhati from near Aradhana cinema around 11 pm yesterday.
Police teams immediately launched a chase. Finding themselves cornered, the robbers opened fire to which the police relatiated.
One of the robbers and a constable were injured in the encounter.
The injured accused Raheem of Pasonda village was arrested and taken to hospital while his accomplice managed to escape, police said, adding that a hunt has been launched to nab him.
