Cardamom prices moved down by 0.34 per cent to Rs 1,159.50 per kg in futures trading today as participants reduced exposure amid subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in far-month November fell by Rs 4, or 0.34 per cent to Rs 1,159.50 per kg in business turnover of 39 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in October contracts traded lower by Rs 3.50, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 1,131 per kg in 73 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders following sluggish domestic as well as exports demand in the spot market against sufficient stocks position on higher supplies from producing belts mainly led to decline in cardamom prices at futures trade.
