Cardamom prices fell by 1.43 per cent to Rs 790.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels amid subdued demand in spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in December fell by Rs 11.50, or 1.43 per cent, to Rs 790.40 per kg in a business turnover of 260 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January next year traded lower by Rs 5.70, or 0.66 per cent, to Rs 852 per kg in 81 lots.
Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at prevailing higher levels, sluggish demand in spot markets led to the fall in cardamom prices at futures trade.
