Amid pick-up in domestic demand and tight supplies from producing belts, cardamom prices moved higher by 0.40% to Rs 832 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in June rose Rs 3.30, or 0.40%, to Rs 832 per kg in business turnover of 106 lots.

Also, the spice for delivery in July contract traded higher by 90 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 802 per kg in 6 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators driven by rising demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing belts mainly influenced cardamom prices in futures trade.
