Illegal slaughter houses will be identified and their owners will be booked under gangster act, District Magistrate Vimal Kumar Sharma said here today.
Accused will also be history-sheeted, the DM added.
Subsequently, Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh issued orders to the SHOs of all police stations to maintain a strict vigil in the district.
Yesterday, district police chief suspended SHO Bhojpur, head constable and a constable for not taking any action against cattle smugglers even after a call from police office on Wednesday night to rescue nineteen camels bundled in a truck.
Taking benefit of delay in police action three smugglers escaped from the spot leaving behind the truck.
