"CBI officials searched the house of murder accused James Ray in Aradapalli under Pattamundai police jurisdiction. The CBI had sought the assistance of local police", said Kendrapara Superintendent of Police, Sarthak Sarangi.
Apart from the search of Ray's house, some of his relatives were questioned by the CBI sleuths, sources said.
Payal was found murdered in her flat at JP Nagar in Bangalore on December 17, 2010. Though police at first suspected her husband, Anant Narayan Mishra, to be behind the murder, they had subsequently arrested her husband's friend James from Cuttack. The accused James is a native of Aradapalli village near Pattamundai.
