The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) seeks to produce, procure and sell quality handicrafts and handloom products and to develop markets for these products in India and abroad; to improve the quality of Indian handicrafts and to upgrade and produce new designs; and strengthen and expand the marketing network of Central Cottage Industries Corporation (CCIC).
Besides, it also aims to help the CCIC generate adequate returns on net worth and to manage trading activities so as to optimise sales earnings and expenditure.
The Ministry will also assist CCIC in its activities as and when required and take timely action for filling up post of Independent/Non-official Directors on the Board of CCIC.
