This was stated by Principal Secretary, Haryana Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department, Abhilaksh Likhi at a review meeting with officers of the Ambala Division, in Ambala.
The government will launch special awareness campaigns for providing information about the schemes for milch animals, especially for Haryana's Sahiwal breed of cows, he said adding, arrangements will be made to meet the shortage of staff in the department.
Likhi said that the state government had introduced 'Pashudhan Bima Yojana' under which insurance was being provided to cows and buffaloes for a period of three years at a premium of Rs 100.
He directed the officers to effectively implement vaccination of animals to protect them from various diseases.
