"In the interest of the popular Odia sentiments on Lord Jagannath, I shall be grateful if you could kindly look into the matter and issue necessary advice to the Managing Committee, Puri to furnish a few designs or photos of the Lord expeditiously," Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan wrote to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Pradhan said that early furnish of design or photo of the Lord would help release of the commemorative coins early.
Pradhan said the letters were written to the managing committee thrice on February 11, February 24, and April 7, 2016. The ministry has been pursuing the matter with the temple administration also, he informed the chief minister.
