At present, KCC limit is Rs 27,000 per acre.
It was stated by Union Ministry of Agriculture, Joint Secretary, Sanjeev chopra said here today.
Chopra said the input cost of agriculture production has increased manifold and there was a dire need for the enhancement of KCC limit.
However, he refused to disclose the amount to be increased in the KCC limit, saying that the Finance Ministry will take the final call.
Chopra said the Agriculture Ministry would recommend the Finance Ministry to enhance the credit card limit.
He appealed farmers of Punjab to adopt crop diversification by coming out of wheat-paddy rotation cycle to earn remunerative returns.
