Centre for arts, auto, cinema and culture launched in Mumbai

A pioneering cultural centre focusing on Indian and world cinema besides arts and vintage automobiles was launched here today.
The iconic art-deco Liberty Cinema became the first venue of Osianama, which will also be launched in Delhi soon.
Osianama promises to be the nerve-centre for the exhibition, edutainment, screening and knowledge for arts, auto, cinema, culture and the preservation of heritage.
At the launch, Neville Tuli, chairman of Osianama, said that Osianama embraces nine membership-driven cultural clubs under its umbrella which will be inaugurated step-by-step.
While the vintage and classic automobiles and cinefan clubs have started immediately, the fine arts, books and poetry clubs are scheduled to be launched in April. The rest will take off in due course.

The Osianama Cinefan Club will host premieres of over 50 top quality films from India and the best of world cinema in its first year. It will also organise 12 major exhibitions including ones on Orson Welles; Clark Gable and Marlon Brando; and Charlie Chaplin.
"... This has been a pivotal institutional step of one's vision for the past 20 years... Osianama will provide a new global learning platform for the connoisseurs and students of art, culture, cinema, architecture and its heritage, with the citizens of Mumbai and the country gaining a new confidence because of its intellectual energy, innovative presence and a sense of public entitlement based on creative merit being respected," said Tuli.

The Vintage and Classic Automotive Club will bring the world of automotive cultural treasures to the connoisseurs and students of India in the form of events, exhibitions, discussions, master classes and seminars.
