Pul, during a meeting with officials of the department of Science and Technology at 'Arunachal Bhawan' in New Delhi, talked about the mechanism to keep check on boundary encroachment by other countries by having population habitat in border areas, an official release said here.
"Border people require livelihood security through development of agriculture and horticulture so that we do not create empty spaces in international borders on account of population migration to urban areas," he said.
He identified eight major zonal centres in the state and said that these centres would be set up at foothill areas and soon to be covered by railway communication and through the ambitious Trans-Arunachal highway.
