At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July spurted by Rs 115, or 2.66 per cent to Rs 4,433 per quintal with an open interest of 9,210 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in August contracts climbed Rs 88, or 1.97 per cent to Rs 4,546 per quintal in 1,91,080 lots.
Market analysts said besides pickup in demand at the spot market, tight arrivals from producing regions led to the rise in chana prices in futures trade.
