Barring a few government-run medical stores at hospitals, all the chemist shops in Indore remained closed as a part of the nation-wide protest organised by the All India Chemists and Druggists Association against the Centre's new drug policy.
About 2,100 chemist shops in Indore did not open today, said Nirmal Jain, secretary of Indore Chemists Association.
"We protested against draconian provisions in the new drug policy of the Centre and provisions in Drugs and Cosmetics (Amendment) Act, 2008," Jain said.
