"Police in the evening recovered child Gurmilap Singh, who was kidnapped from the Golden Temple during intervening night of Friday and Saturday," said Koustav Sharma, DCP Punjab Police.
Police traced the three-and-a-half-year old child near the Golden Temple, where kidnappers left the boy abandon, he said, adding that passerby informed the police about the child minor.
The child was handed over to the parents.
However, Sharma said that kidnappers are yet to be arrested and the police has launched a manhunt to nab them.
Manjit Singh, a resident of Ferozepur, had complained to the police that his cousin Gurmilap was kidnapped Friday night from the premises of the Golden Temple, where his family had come to pay obeisances.
He said that they found Gurmilap missing on Saturday morning, following which they informed the police.
Police had checked CCTV footages from the control room of the Golden Temple and found two men and a woman taking away the child.
