Chittorgarh sizzles

Squall accompanied by thundershowers hit parts of Rajasthan where heat wave conditions persisted today with Chittorgarh sizzling at 44.2 degrees Celsius.
Light to moderate showers occurred at isolated places in Jaipur, Bikaner, and Ajmer divisions with Udaipur recording a maximum rainfall of 10.4 mm since last evening, the Met office said.
Kota and Barmer registered highs of 43.4 degrees Celsius each followed by Ajmer and Jaipur at 42.1 degrees each.
Elsewhere, the day temperatures stayed above 41 degrees Celsius except at Pilani where it touched 35.1 degrees, the Met office said.
