The 24-year-old singer was at Record Plant recording studios in Hollywood when he collapsed and his companions placed a 911 call, saying he had a seizure, reported TMZ online.
However, Brown was responsive at the scene, refusing treatment and transportation to hospital.
It is not known if he actually suffered a seizure or what caused the collapse.
The incident comes soon after Brown claimed he wants to retire after his upcoming album 'X' because he's fed up of still hitting the headlines for the domestic violence altercation he had with ex-girlfriend Rihanna back in 2009.
However, the troubled star's probation was revoked recently after the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office believed he was involved in a hit-and-run incident in May.
Brown is alleged to have left the scene after smashing into a woman's Mercedes-Benz two months ago and while the victim has refused to press charges it is required by law that the judge revoke the star's probation.
Brown was spared jail, but will have to answer the charges later this month.
