The incident occured at Jasola Apollo Metro station yesterday afternoon when CISF constable H R Satpute located an unclaimed bag near the X-ray scanning machine placed at the entry of the facility.
The jawan alerted his superiors and the bag was subjected to intense checking for explosives, after which it was found that apart from Rs 1.5 lakh, the bag contained two passports, four pen drives, an ATM card, bank passbooks, cheque books and some hospital documents.
"After due diligence, Ali was returned his bag. He personally thanked the security personnel for helping him with his lost belongings," a senior Central Industrial Security Force official said.
In a separate incident, CISF apprehended a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar at Saket Metro station yesterday for carrying a live bullet in his bag.
He was later handed over to Metro police by the force as he had no supporting documents for carrying the ammunition, the official added.
