Brigadier R K Sachdeva received the award on behalf of the Madras Sappers while Director General of CISF O P Singh received the trophy on behalf of CISF.
The event was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chief of Indian Air Force B S Dhanoa and Defence Secretary G Mohan Kumar among others.
The 148-member contingent of the Central Industrial Security Force was recently adjudged the best amongst paramilitary forces and other auxiliary marching contingents that take to Rajpath to mark the Republic Day celebrations.
This is the fifth such decoration for the 1.47-lakh personnel strong force as it was adjudged the best in 2007, 2008, 2013 and 2015 too.
