A big tree that had fallen across the railway track and the National Highway-37 could have led to a major accident had the man, Biresh Chandra Guha, not passed on the information to the nearest Railway Station Master of Dibrugarh Town, NF Railway Additional Divisional Manager-Tinsukia S Hajong said.
The Station Master then controlled the approaching 12423 Dn Rajdhani Express and information was sent out to the control room to clear the tracks.
Speaking on the occasion the DRM said such acts by public should be encouraged to enable the Railways to serve better, Hajong added.
