In a complaint to the Election Commission, Pradesh Congress Committee, general secretary (in-charge) Girish Dewangan has alleged that the chief minister's wife Veena Singh uses the government Safari vehicle during his son's campaigning, which violates the model code of conduct.
The complaint mentioned that Veena Singh's government vehicle met with a minor mishap while she was on the way to Rajnandgaon with her convoy to campaign for her son Abhishek who is a BJP candidate from the Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha constituency.
Incidentally, Veena Singh's vehicle escaped a major mishap after her vehicle's air bag suddenly opened near Pulgaon rivulet on the Durg-Rajnandgaon road on March 31.
The windscreen of the vehicle crashed in the mishap, though Veena Singh was unhurt.
Later, she had left for Rajnandgaon in another vehicle.
