Warning corrupt government officials of stringent action, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said they are being paid decent salaries and should learn to live within their means.

"If government officials accept bribes, they will face stringent action. A few among them are bringing a bad name to the entire government machinery. They are being given decent salaries and should learn to live within their means,"he said.

He was addressing a gathering here after launching the automated intelligence building application software 'Suvega', powered by 'DIGIT DCR'.

DIGIT DCR is one of the components of DIGIT (Digital Infrastructure for Governance Impact and Transformation) platform developed by 'eGovernments Foundation',a Bengaluru based NGO, which drives urban transformation.

Speaking on the occassion, Viraj Tyagi, CEO of the NGO said DIGIT DCR, launched in Kerala for the first time, was in line with Kerala's broader IT mission to be on top in digitalisation.

"It is also an end-to-end citizen-friendly solution as the plan can be uploaded to receive real-time compliance assessment and solution and progress can be tracked," he said.

eGoverments Foundation was in talks with the Centre to deploy 'DIGIT' as the default national urban governance platform.

"By 2020, we aim to deploy DIGIT across 2,000 urban local bodies in the country," Tyagi said.
