CoalMin asks its PSUs to promote clean work environment

Ahead of launch of clean India campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi tomorrow, the Coal Ministry has asked its PSUs to launch special drives to promote a hygienic and clean work environment.
"Prime Minister has given a call for 'Swachh Bhara'"...In this context, I would like to especially underline the importance of cleanliness in offices and mines of our PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings) for up keeping and proper sanitation in mines; premises; workshops: garages," Coal Secretary S K Srivastava said in a letter to Coal Controller Amrita Acharya.
"You will appreciate that there is a need to promote a hygienic and clean work environment in the mines and also the office complexes," the letter said.
Coal Secretary further said that for the campaign to be successful, there is a need to create massive public awareness and to ensure participation and action for cleaning homes, government offices, roads and markets etc.
The ministry further said that a variety of activities such as pledge-taking, marches, marathons, debates, street plays, music and essay competitions, cleaning drives and other community activities may be used to focus public attention on this campaign and on the need for cleanliness.
The letter further said that the details of action taken with regard to arrangements made for cleanliness drive and other events planned for tomorrow be intimated to the ministry.
