Coimbatore eye surgeon receives ACE award

A city-based eye specialist has been conferred with the prestigious Asia Pacific Certified Educator Award in recognition of education provided to fellow eye specialists.
The award instituted by the Asia Pacific Society of Cataract and Refractive surgeons was given to Chairman of 'The Eye Foundation', D Ramamurthy at the annual meet of the society held in Indonesia recently, a foundation statement said today.
The prestigious award is in recognition of providing extensive education to fellow ophthalmologists of the region, as Ramamurthy has been an invited guest speaker for years in the international conglomeration of ophthalmologists in different regions, it said.

As the Chairman of Scientific Committee for All India Ophthalmological Society, for a six-year period, Ramamurthy had brought in a lot of innovative modes of teaching and bringing scientific content to a very high platform of learning, it added.
