Cold condition intensifies in Kashmir, north-bound train

Cold weather condition continued in Kashmir, while Delhi witnessed a cold morning which affected train services.
The mercury dropped at most places in the Valley and the Ladakh region, with all stations recording sub-zero minimum temperature.
Srinagar - the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir -- recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius, marginally up from the previous night's minus 3.9 degrees Celsius, the official said.
The MeT office has forecast mainly dry weather in the state till 9 February, after which, it said there was a possibility of a wet spell for a few days.
Delhi recorded a low of 6.3 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average.
Ten north-bound trains were cancelled, 19 were running late while three were rescheduled, at 6 am, a senior railway ministry official said.
In Punjab and Haryana, cold conditions continued with Adampur recording a low of 2.6 degrees Celsius.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of the two states, registered above normal low at 9.4 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Karnal was the coldest place at a low of 4 degrees Celsius, while Hisar recorded 4.2 degrees Celsius.
Narnaul experienced a cold night at 4.9 degrees Celsius.
In Himachal Pradesh, cold wave conditions persisted in most parts even as minimum temperatures rose marginally.
The region had a windy and cloudy day and local MeT office has forecast rains or snow at isolated places in high hills tomorrow and rains and snow in mid and high hills as a fresh western disturbance lies over the Himalayan region.
The maximum temperatures decreased by few notches and Una recorded the hottest day at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
