Cold wave conditions today swept many parts of Haryana and Punjab, with Narnaul turning out to be the coldest place at 2.5 degrees Celsius.
Narnaul in Haryana reeled under biting chill as the minimum temperature today dropped four notches below normal level, a MeT Department report said here.
While Hisar experienced a cold night at 4.5 degrees Celsius, three notches less than normal, minimum temperature in Ambala however, settled within the normal limits at 9.3 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Amritsar had a cold night at 6 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana also experienced the chill at 6.8 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, Chandigarh Meteorological Centre Director Surender Paul said Western disturbances, which bring rainfall and snowfall in the northern parts, have been weak and shallow this year, and passing at higher altitudes, resulting in just cloudy weather devoid of snowfall and rain.
"It all leads to an increase in temperature," he said.
He predicted warmer February in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
"The warmer conditions will remain for the next two weeks or so, with no significant rainfall. There is an indication that February will remain equally warm," said Paul.
