With severe cold conditions yet to hit the state, Bikaner experienced the coldest night with a minimum of 7 degree Celsius, a MeT official said today.
There are no new western disturbances developing, either from Capsian Sea or Mediterrarean Sea, to bring moisture to north-west Rajasthan, B N Vishnoi, the state Met Director told PTI.
It is mainly due to the global warming that winter days are still awaited in the state in December, Vishnoi said.
Even cold wave conditions were not percolating or moving towards plains from high reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, he said, adding, cold conditions maybe generated by December 15-20 when Jammu and Kashmir starts experiencing snowfall.
Even then it would take at least 10-15 days for cold winds to generate and travel to plains, Vishnoi added.
Meanwhile Mount Abu, the sole hill-station in Rajasthan, recorded a minimum of 8 deg Celsuis last night. Alwar recorded a minimum of 9.2 degree C followed by Churu 9.3, Hanumagarh 10.3, and Jaipur 13 degree C.
Banswara, Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Ajmer districts were still warmer with a minimum temperature in the range of 13.6 to 16.7 degree C.
No major change in temperature is expected in next 24 hours in the state, a forecast said.
