College student crushed to death by tractor

A college student was crushed to death under the wheels of a tractor under Muffasil police station limits in Chaibasa in the West Singhbhum district today, the police said.
The victim, Sarita Laguri (22), a resident of Railway colony, along with a friend was on her way to meet another friend on her bicycle when the incident occurred, Officer in-charge of the police station, Digvijay Singh, said.
Laguri was about to cross the road when a speeding tractor crushed her, Singh said adding, she was immediately rushed to the Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The Police have impounded the tractor, but the driver managed to escape, he said.
