The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) entrance test so far conducted only in Karnataka, would now be held at more than 60 cities across the country, including Guwahati and Shillong, as an online computer based test, the release said.
The test would benefit students by saving their time and money in travel and accommodation in Karnataka, it said.
The exam would determine the merit of students through a fair, transparent and reliable testing procedure for admission for the academic year 2016-17, it said.
The single session exam with 180 multiple choice questions would have separate tests for the 12-member Medical and 20 Dental colleges, it said.
The common platform for assessment of students test would be conducted by the Education Rating and Assessment Foundation (ERA), the release added.
