All offices of Commercial Tax Department across Uttarakhand will work tomorrow as a routinefollowing directions from All India Confederation of Commercial Taxes Associations (AICCTA).
However, the AICCTA's state unit will be part of its nation-wide pen down strike on November 23 as part of continued protest of states commercial taxdepartments under AICCTA for their just rights in the GST regime,an association press release here said.
The Uttarakhand Commercial Tax Service Association like the Commercial Tax Service Associations of all other states has decided to work tomorrow on November 20 despite it being a Sunday, the release said.
It means that all the offices of Commercial Tax dept across Uttarakhand shall function as a routine day i.E. From 10 AM to 5 PM, it added.
The decision to work on Sunday has a symbolic meaning because it shows that the state tax departments are serious & senstive towards their job of collection of tax.
The states tax depts, by working on a weekly off want to reiterate that they are not against GST.
All they are against is the biased attitude and the unjust expansionarytendencies of central agencies (CBEC), the release said.
