Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government was committed to improve road connectivity in remote areas of the state.

Singh, who was addressing a public meeting after participating in the'Pratishtha' ceremony of the renovated Nag Sarkini Devta Sahib temple at Jaghori here, said more than 35,000 kilometres of roads had been constructed in the state against 300 kilometres at the time of formation of Himachal Pradesh.
The Chief Minister announced a playground and a new panchayat building for Jaghori and a police post for Ghanvi.
Singh said he will talk to cell phone companies for setting up of mobile tower in the area.
He asked officials to prepare an estimate for beautification of Saur lake.
Calling upon the people to preserve the rich culture, Singh said it is our identity which symbolises the strong belief of people in gods and goddesses.
"The life of the people of hilly areas revolves around their deities who besides protecting them also guide their day to day life and are integral part of their lives," Singh said.
