Committee recommends withdrawal of compoundable cases against

Petty Offence Review Committee of Delhi government has proposed to recommend withdrawal of cases pertaining to compoundable offence against many politicians including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia as well as BJP leader Vijendra Gupta.
The Committee, consisting senior officers from the Delhi government and the Delhi police, held a joint-meeting around three days back to review petty cases registered against politicians.
Sources said that in the meeting, it was decided to recommend to withdraw petty cases involving Kejriwal, Sisodia, Kapil Mishra, BJP MP Parvez Sahib Singh Verma, BJP leader Vijendra Gupta, Congress leader Mukesh Kumar Sharma and others.
Compoundable offences are less serious criminal offences, adding that these cases to be recommended for withdrawal are pertaining to protest, dharnas, rallies by the leaders, they said.
Around 35 petty cases will be recommended for withdrawal by the committee.
"Such cases can be withdrew as these belong to minor offences," sources also said.
