Don't compromise on integrity under any circumstances: Premji

Highlighting the importance of integrity in the day-to-day life, Wipro Chairman Azim Premji today said it's a beacon that guides us and there should not be any compromise on it "under any circumstances".
"Life itself is built on a strong foundation of integrity," he said while addressing the third convocation ceremony of Azim Premji University.
"It's all about delivering on your commitments to everyone. The highest form of integrity is the commitment you make to yourself. Integrity is the beacon that guides us and the energy that gives us courage. We must not compromise on it under any circumstances."
He offered a formula through which integrity can be assessed.

"Whenever you do something, ask yourself whether you will be willing to talk about what you have done to your friends, to your parents, to your spouse without feeling small or guilty... There is also the newspaper test -- which means if what you have done gets published in newspaper headlines tomorrow, how will you feel? If you are comfortable with it, that action is fine."
Premji, who is the Chancellor of the University, gave away degrees to students.
Asking them to "dream, work hard and be self-confident", Premji said vision without action is "hallucination".
"The key to success is execution. We need to anticipate what we need to do and do them diligently. Strangely, it is that one little thing that we leave out that assumes extraordinary importance," he added.
