The Haryana government would constitute steering committees at district-level to ensure complete ban on smoking and sale of tobacco in the periphery of medical and educational institutions in the state.
Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij today said a special campaign will also be launched to encourage and sensitise people about the ill effects of tobacco and its products.
"The steering committees will be constituted at district level to ensure the complete ban on the sale of tobacco and smoking in the periphery of medical and educational institutions in the state," he said at an event.
The tobacco free villages will be honoured by the state government, the minister said.
He also asked religious institutions, NGOs and social organisations to participate in this campaign.
