Commodore Bopanna takes over as Naval Officer-in-Charge APD

Commodore Satish Uniyal, Naval Officer-in-Charge (NOIC APD), handed over his duties to Commodore K A Bopanna at a function at the NOIC APD office here today.
Commodore Bopanna is a gunnery specialist and graduate of the Defence Services Staff College at Wellington, Army War College and National Defence College, New Delhi.
He holds a Masters Degree in Defence and Security Studies, according to a naval release issued here today.
Commodore Bopanna has commanded INS Nirbhik, INS Krishna and destroyer INS Rana.
He has also held prestigious staff and operational appointments including Defence Attache, High Commissioner of India at Singapore.
Prior to taking over as Naval Officer-in-Charge (NOIC APD), Commodore Bopanna was Commodore Commanding the 22 Killer Squadron and Commanding Officer of INS Agnibahu.
