Cautioning people against communal and divisive forces, Congress today said they posed a threat to the secular fabric of the state and nation, and stressed that Congress would give a befitting reply to them.
"The people should remain cautious against the designs of communal and divisive forces. Such forces pose a threat to secular fabric of the state and the nation," Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) chief, Prof Saifuddin Soz told a public rally in Akhnoor border belt today.
While Congress had promoted the interests of all sections, Soz said certain forces were indulging in the politics of hatred and divisiveness which would harm the unity and harmony in the country.
Congress is a secular and unifying force and a befitting reply would be given to the communal and divisive forces in the state, he said.
Stating that Centre had provided liberal funding for the development of the state, he said three regions of the state are witnessing creation of infrastructure, he said.
Referring to the party's struggle for incorporation of 73rd Amendment into the state Panchayat Raj Act, Soz sought that the recommendations of Congress should be accepted without any dilution.
Soz also referred to the demands of refugees and said the Centre was quite positive on extending financial support even though a comprehensive package for their upliftment, welfare and redressal of genuine demands was to be forward by the state government to the Centre.
He urged the government to immediately forward relief and financial package to the centre government.
