A non-cognizable (NC) offence has been registered against two persons for allegedly threatening and forcing a couple to give them money for damage to their motorcycle after an accident, police said today.
"An NC has been registered at Dindoshi police station against the two accused and police are investigating the case," said DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni.
Last night, there was an accident involving the car in which the couple was travelling and the accused who were on motorbike.
An argument broke out between the couple, of which the lady is an anchor with television channel, and the two persons who were on the bike, police said.
The duo then allegedly threatened the couple and told them to pay money for the damages caused to the motorcycle, they said.
Subsequently, they forced the couple to accompany them to the nearby ATM and pay them money, informed police.
The lady due to some reasons was unable to take out money from ATM, after which the accused fled from the spot, police said.
