"We condemn the continued Pakistani shelling on border causing heavy loss to human lives and property. Congress fully stands with the people living on border and is committed to sort out the problems being faced by them," AICC Secretary state incharge, Mainul Haque said.
Haque alongwith senior Congress leader and former minister R S Chib today visited border areas of R S Pura sector in Jammu district to take stock of the situation there.
The Congress leader further said the party stands for uplift of weaker sections of the society and to fight communal forces which are out to divide the people on basis of caste, creed and religion.
He urged the people to remain vigilant and united against these forces and their propaganda.
Chib, on the other hand, highlighted the problems of refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 and demanded one time settlement and special package for their rehabilitation.
