Cong dubs terror attack "cocktail of failure" of intelligence,

Congress today lashed out at Home Minister Rajnath Singh for travelling to Madhya Pradesh while terrorists struck in Punjab and dubbed the incident as a "cocktail of failure" of intelligence, law and order, administrative and political machinery.
"It is a cocktail of intelligence failure, of law and order failure and administrative and political failure", party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters adding that India cannot show resolve against terrorism with Home Minister flying away mid-day to Madhya Pradesh.
He said instead of the terrorists 'running away', India's Home Minister seemed to have "run away" to MP, away from "logistical, manpower and moral support vital in Delhi".

At the same time, he made it clear that the Congress stood firmly behind the Govt in the resolve to fight against the menace of terrorism. He said it is important for the Centre as well as the state government to take strong action against these incidents.
Singhvi utilised the occasion to refer to the "doublespeak" of the Akali Dal, BJP as well as AAP on Khalistani terrorists. "It is deplorable to see the doublespeak", he said alleging that there have been demands by these parties to go soft on terror.
Some of them want to shift Khalistani terrorists from Delhi to Punjab, he said.

"Khalistani flags are flying during ruling SAD meetings and Pakistan flags in Jammu and Kashmir and the Home Minister seems to be doing everything but looking at 'home' issues", he alleged.

He took a veiled dig at the BJP-led NDA's 'non-action' in the wake of the Lalit Modi controversy and the Vyapam scam when asked whether the Congress would demand the resignation of Home Minister and Punjab Chief Minister.
When reminded that the Congress had removed the then Home Minister Shivraj Patil and the then Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh in the wake of the 26-11 Mumbai terror strikes, he said "it is an important question that shows the Congress standards of accountability".

Asked whether the government should call off the NSA level talks with Pakistan in the wake of the incident, he suggested that it was for the government to take a view. "If there is a Pak complicity, then it will be a serious option, " he added .
