Police said Salman Nizami, Joint Secretary of state unit of the party was arrested yesterday in connection with a two-month-old FIR in which two residents of his native town in Doda had lodged a criminal complaint against him.
"It was a two-month-old FIR in which Salman Nizami had threatened two individuals of the town by posting threatening remarks on their Facebook page," SP Doda Sharief Chowhan told PTI.
Nizami was booked under the section 66 of IT Act and 504 and 506 of RPC.
"I had entered with some business partnership with one Rehmatullah Khora of Doda, but without my knowledge he sold our business and embezzled the money," Nizami told PTI.
"I tried all the means to get my money back, but when he refused and started abusing me publicly, I posted some message to his son which they used against me," he said.
